COOP Stores Deliver Steady Growth Across Hungary

COOP Group recorded sales revenue of HUF 887 billion in 2025, marking a 3% increase compared to the previous year, CO-OP Hungary announced on Thursday.

Retail operations within the COOP network generated HUF 542 billion in turnover, reflecting a 2.5% year-on-year rise.

The company noted that its performance came amid a particularly challenging retail environment, shaped by persistent inflationary pressure, government-imposed price freezes and margin caps, as well as rising energy and labour costs. It also pointed to a decline in consumers’ purchasing power as a significant factor affecting the sector.

According to the company’s official information, the COOP Group operates approximately 2,100 stores nationwide, managed by around 500 independent enterprises, making it one of Hungary’s most extensive domestic retail networks.
