Venture Capital Transactions Triple in Hungary
Venture capital and private equity transactions in Hungary amounted to more than Ft 31 billion in the second quarter, three times as much as in the same period of 2021, the Hungarian Venture Capital and Private Equity Association (HVCA) reports.

HVCA members invested in 38 companies in 35 transactions.

The largest investment, worth Ft 6.2 billion, was in a late-stage company.

Start-up, seed capital and later stage venture investments made up 46% of the total in the second quarter.

The real estate sector attracted the highest investment volume, followed by business products and services.

The number of divestments reached 19, down from 43 a year earlier but up from 17 in 2020.
