The European Union "has set the world record in hypocrisy" on the matter of Georgia, but Hungary and Slovakia have vetoed proposed sanctions against certain law enforcement leaders of the country, Peter Szijjarto, the minister of foreign affairs and trade, said in Brussels.
European leaders holding a meeting in Budapest on Thursday urged US president-elect Donald Trump not to launch trade wars, to sustain the funds extended to Ukraine and abstain from disrupting the current global order, Reuters reported.
"The decision of American voters gives us good hopes that political cooperation between the United States and Hungary could again get into a top shape," the foreign minister said on Facebook on Wednesday morning.
Prime Minister Viktor Orbán is scheduled to hold talks with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte in Budapest on Thursday, the PM's press chief said in a statement.
