Sixt Opens Big New Base Designed on Green Principles Near Budapest Airport
Sixt rent-a-car, a member of the AutoWallis group, has opened a new base in Vecsés, a town near Liszt Ferenc International Airport in Budapest, AutoWallis announced on Tuesday.

The Ft 705 million development project received Ft 282 million in state subsidy from the Foreign Affairs and Trade Ministry.

The 1,349m2 facility has 210 parking spaces.

The design of the new base follows green principles, AutoWallis added, so the new location is suitable for servicing electric cars on behalf of car-sharing companies or corporate fleet managers.

The company provided the financing for the project from revenues of its green bond issued last year.

Sixt’s new base was constructed by Alteo under a co-operation agreement between the two companies signed last year.

Alteo has installed a 50kW solar system and 13 electric chargers, preparing the system to be connected to an energy storage facility at a later date.

Furthermore, an increasing proportion of the hybrid or fully electric fleet can also be filled with electricity from solar panels.
