Ukraine Crisis: Victims Remembered in Budapest

On the first anniversary of the start of the war, Jaroslava Hartyányi, the president of Budapest’s Ukrainian self-government and the Ukrainian Cultural Association in Hungary, told the demonstrators there would be peace “only if the Russians pull out”.
Mayor Gergely Karácsony called Budapest a “city of solidarity”, as the capital has welcomed refugees and “stood on the right side of history”.
Momentum MEP Katalin Cseh pointed to the importance of “showing there is another Hungary, too”. Momentum chairman Ferenc Gelencsér said Hungary “may not be allowed to serve the interests of the aggressor, Russia”.
