Three Thieves Chased by Police for Stealing Cash from Foreigners in Budapest
Budapest police (BRFK) have detained a man and are looking for two others believed to have stolen hundreds of thousands of forints from tourists withdrawing money from ATMs in the city’s 7th district, police.hu said.

An investigation was launched after a criminal complaint by a tourist staying in Budapest with friends last September, who said that the thieves had diverted his attention while he drew money from an ATM, running away with his 200,000 forints (EUR 529).

The police established that the suspects had also stolen 360,000 forints from two other tourists using the same method.

The perpetrators have been identified and one of them, a 21-year-old man, was arrested on Feb. 15.
