International Theater Olympics in Budapest, Until 1 July
The 10th International Theatre Olympics opened in Budapest on Saturday, with concerts and street artists’ performances taking place in several venues on the Danube embankment.

As the flag of the three-month series of events was hoisted by the National Theatre building, Attila Vidnyánszky, artistic director of the festival and director of the National Theatre, said that “more than 100 institutions are realising this dream” after four years of preparations.

The 10th Theatre Olympics will feature 750 productions by 400 theatre, dance and puppet theatre troupes from 58 countries, with 7,500 performers.

The programmes will take place at almost 100 venues across the country until July 1.

Hungary Today

Appearing online long after XpatLoop.com this ‘government related’ source states its aim as "to provide a complete, unbiased picture of Hungary”. It continues by acknowledging this “does not necessarily mean that our writers do not have their own opinions, sometimes reflected to a degree in the articles they publish” - and so it's really worth readers here keeping that in mind. Another stated aim is to become ‘the leading English-language news portal of Hungary’, a position held for well over 20 years by good old independent XpatLoop! Still our team has no issue with positively highlighting one or two useful articles published by Hungary Today - with their permission - for your interest.
