Biden Just Shakes Hands with Orban at NATO Summit
Commentators suspect that the US President didn’t know whom he chose for that handshake while joining the on-camera ‘family photo’ event at the NATO summit in Vilnius.

In a hint at the tense relations between the two governments, Mandiner jokingly quotes a famous sentence from the legendary wartime movie Casablanca: ‘This is the beginning of a beautiful friendship’ – but adds a question mark to the quote.

On 444, Márk Herczeg adds one single sentence to the news and the accompanying photo: ‘It is unclear if President Biden knew whom he was shaking hands with’.

In his Bádog blog where he posts even sharper remarks than in his highly opinionated Magyar Nemzet columns, Zsolt Bayer takes Herczeg’s comment as an admission ‘even by 444 that the President of the United States is a demented old man’. They had to admit that, he writes, otherwise, how could they continue to describe PM Orbán as unpresentable?

A pro-government commentator compares the US ambassador to erstwhile Soviet oppressors because of his presence at Mondays’ extraordinary session of Parliament which was convened at the initiative of the opposition to vote on Sweden’s accession to NATO but boycotted by the governing majority. A liberal author dismisses such comparison as absurd.
