The Hungarian Tourism Agency his given a grant of Ft 70 million to the Hazajáró Honmismereti és Turista Egylet, the company which organizes tours commemorating the attempt by German and Hungarian fascist soldiers to break through Soviet army lines as the siege of Buda drew to a close in February of 1945.
The anniversary attracts neo-Nazis from neighbouring countries each year.
In addition, A8 Palace Hotel, owned by billionaires István Garancsi, Sándor Csányi and Zsolt Hernádi, received Ft 194 million for accommodation development.
The agency recalled Ft 2.2 billion in support from the Kisfaludy Programme for tourism development.
The agency took back nearly Ft 1 billion from the Karcag municipality, Ft 474 million from Kiskőrös, Ft 150 million from Makó, Ft 84 million from Zalaegerszeg, and Ft 83 million from Ráckeve.
The government recalled Ft 56 billion in tourism subsidies for 41 projects in February.
