MBH Launches Investment Bank, Aims to Create Market Leader in Field Of Money And Capital Markets in Hungary
The MBH bank group has launched an investment bank subsidiary, named the MBH Befektetési Bank, the company announced.

The new bank is based on the former Magyar Takarékszövetkezeti Bank and has 124,000 clients, who have equity accounts with the bank.

The investment bank will follow Anglo-Saxon models, said Levente Szabó, deputy CEO of MBH Bank.

The new bank will have only minimal own investments and transactions.

As a first step, it will serve private persons, but later service companies and institutional clients.

Szabolcs Brezina, CEO of the new bank, said the bank will conduct more than 200,000 money and capital market transactions a year, and offers more than 70,000 products to customers.

The group plans to move all MBH clients, both retail and corporate, who have equity accounts into the investment bank by the first half of next year.

Its goal is to be the market leader in the field of money and capital markets in Hungary, Brezina declared.
