Xmas Tram Now on Budapest Tracks
This special tram in the capital is on track to delight passengers again this year, as anyone can take a ride on this seasonal BKK vehicle for the price of a regular tram ticket. The decorated vehicles will be on the streets of Budapest until January 7, 2024.

In addition to the illuminated fleet of streetcars in Budapest, the more than 70-year-old HÉV train, renovated in 2019, will also be adorned with lights.

The “light train” (FényHÉV) will run in the early evening hours between Batthyány square and Szentendre at the regular fare.

A special experience awaits passengers on December 6. Santa Claus and his singing reindeer will take a few rides on the H5 line, giving presents to children, who can also learn about the history of HÉV trains. Fare tickets for the Santa Claus H5 line will cost HUF 3,000 (EUR 8) for all age groups.
