Beware: Black Ice Causing Soaring Number of Accidents & Injuries in Hungary

The number of road accidents and injuries caused by people falling on the streets because of black ice has soared in the wintry conditions, the National Ambulance Service wrote on its Facebook page. The service received at least 1,000 calls for help in Budapest alone, it added.
Imre Dóka, deputy spokesman for the National Disaster Control Directorate, advised everyone to gather information about the weather and current road conditions, and said those who can avoid it should not leave home while the ice alerts are in force.
He added that electricity cables and branches might break due to the weight of ice, and advised car drivers not to park their cars under trees.
