Xploring Hungary: Gemenc Forest
The wildly romantic landscape of Gemenc Forest extends beyond the town limits. The area belongs to the Danube - Drava National Park, thus it is a natural preserve.

It is the biggest, exceptionally valuable flood- land forest in Europe with a rich flora and diverse and unique fauna.

For example, it is a nestling place for the rare black stork. The forest is popular with hunters as well, as a home for game such as red deer.

The town with is unique location and its surroundings can lure anyone into the nature to spend their free time there: it is suitable for walks in the forest, bicycle trips and the waters make a paradise for anglers. T

he Danube and the Sugovica trailing through the town centre entice guests to enjoy water sports, kayak, canoe, swimming and sunbathing in the summer.
