Magyar Forbidden by Gov't from Visiting Orphanage in Hungary - Potemkin Display?
The head of a government-run orphanage in Pécs had accepted a request from Tisza party leader Péter Magyar to visit the institution on Tuesday morning, but the Interior Ministry declared that Magyar may not enter the building.

Magyar wrote on Facebook that the state secretary for overseeing child protection, Attila Fülöp, was instead putting on “a Potemkin display” – a false façade – at the Pécs institute.

Earlier Fülöp said that Magyar is not entitled as an MEP to enter such institutions.

Magyar said he was prepared to highlight recent renovations at the Pécs institution, but that does not change the fact that “Third World conditions prevail in the overwhelming majority of childcare institutions”.
