Hungarian Jazz & Wine Weekend, Margaret Island Budapest

Jazz and wine weekend, children's performances, concerts, and storytelling await at the Pentecost weekend at the Margaret Island Theatre.

This year's Pentecost weekend promises a particularly rich program at the Margaret Island Theatre. On the stage and in the surroundings of the theatre, both young and old will find activities to relax and enjoy. This long weekend is also about recharging, family experiences, and celebrating together.

Jazz and wine

The Hungarian Jazz Association and the Margaret Island Theatre are organizing the JAZZ and WINE Festival for the second time, one of the most uniquely atmospheric events of the season.

During the Pentecost weekend, in addition to the grand concert on Sunday evening, we will also welcome the audience with smaller concerts and young performers in the theatre's Rotunda, at the foot of the Water Tower.

During the festival, formations made up of young talents from the Hungarian jazz scene and the winners of the Jazz Showcase will perform and showcase their talents.

Children's performances and family concerts

On Saturday, June 7, Edina Lovászi and her band will perform a puppet concert titled Absurd, Bravura on the Interactive Story Stage.

On Sunday, June 8, the Tabulatúra Early Music Ensemble will welcome families with their concert titled Blessed Beautiful Time of Pentecost at the ruins of St. Margaret's Monastery.

The Ákom-Bákom Puppet Group will be seen on Monday on the story stage with their performance titled Once Upon a Time... the Little Pig Keeper.

Story reading at the Book Cart  

After the children's programs, we invite families to a communal, loud story reading at the book cart located at the entrance of the theater. During the program, there will also be an opportunity for a book exchange.
