Top 7 + 1 Outdoor Spots to Watch UEFA Euro Football in Budapest
The European Football Championship kicks off at 9 pm this Friday, and will conclude on Sunday 14 July with the final in Berlin. As the Hungarian team is involved, the question here is more about where you can’t watch the matches rather than where you can!

Still, to make your decision easier, below are all great places around Budapest where you can catch the action outdoors together with crowds of fans to enjoy the championship atmosphere along with the games:

1. Szabadság Square1054 Budapest, Szabadság tér

The 'Tippmix Mol Belvárosi Foci Mozi' here promises a stadium-like experience. You can watch the matches on two giant 45-square-metre screens, and food and drink will also be available here in this big downtown square.

2.  Zsiráf in Pest1062 Budapest,  Teréz körút 53

Also downtown, you can follow the matches here on a huge LED wall at Zsiráf in Eiffel Square near Nyugati. From Thursday to Friday, you can also celebrate the football results at parties held there. In the lounge area, you are able to enjoy an even more 'exclusive experience' apparently.

Worth noting is that at Zsiráf in Millenáris Széllkapu Park over on the Buda side there is also a large screen showing the games and a special ‘fan’s menu’ during the championship.

3. City Hall Pop-Up Park
1052 Budapest, Károly körút

The recently opened pop-up spot invites footie fans to communal viewing of the games in the 5th district. This temporary green oasis near Deák Ferenc tér features designer landscaping, trendy street furniture and a diverse array of plants.

After the Euro football this communal venue will continue broadcast major sports events all summer, offering a genuine community experience in Budapest’s newest public park. You can choose from a variety of food and drink options before, during and after the live on-screen action to get the most out of the experience here.

4. Budapest Park
1095 Budapest, Fábián Juli tér 1.

If you prefer not to be in the city centre but rather in a green area, you can watch the matches here in the 9th district. One of Budapest’s favourite party venues has so far announced dates for two matches to be shown here: Germany v Hungary on June 19, and Scotland v Hungary on June 23 - with parties following both matches. Note: attendance is free but requires registration.

5. Miamor
1031 Budapest, Római-part 47.

Another great green option, this time out at Római Part, is this Danube side venue with its three huge screens, plenty of new seating, several bars, and large covered areas in case of rain.

Miamor also offers leisure activities before the games, such as serveral water sports plus mini-golf, or you can relax at the beach area here. Cyclists are very welcome as the bike racks show, and this is a dog friendly venue too.

6. Kristály Színtér
1138 Budapest, Margitsziget

A more central green spot to enjoy a communal football viewing experience is on  Margaret Island. Here at Kristály Színtér you can see "the most exciting football matches of the year" (they say) on a giant LED wall from June 14 to July 14.

After the games you can discuss the results over a "genuine German" Euro Cup menu featuring Bavarian sausages, sauerkraut, and other such German delicacies. Also here, post-match joy or sorrow can be channelled into pub sports like darts, table-foosball and ping pong.

6. Budapest Garden1036 Budapest, Árpád Fejedelem útja 125.

In Óbuda’s most colourful 'Fan Village', you can enjoy the matches on two giant LED walls and several large screens. An event series called GardenFest2024 is planned here, so you can add to the match enjoyment via a variety of activities, including football-related sports and skill competitions with prizes from sponsors.

Also here you can choose from a wide range of street food and craft beer specialties. GardenFest2024 organisers say this is a great opportunity for friends and families to experience the match atmosphere and feel a festival vibe, making this summer’s biggest international sports event even more unforgettable.

7. Akvárium Klub1051 Budapest, Erzsébet tér 12

Back in the heart of the city, fan terrace at Erzsébet Square will once again welcome guests with a giant screen, plenty of tables for refreshing drinks and also food. Without a table reservation, it’s best to arrive early to ensure nothing stands in the way of a carefree match experience.

+ 1 Jégkert1027 Budapest, Bakfark Bálint u. 2

Finally, here's a shout-out for a somewhat smaller venue in Buda that's packed with football atmosphere. The ice rink at Széna Square, opposite Mammut 2 and Millenáris Széllkapu, has again been transformed into a beer garden which attracts mostly locals due to a great selection of drinks and pub food with affordable prices.

Access is from Varsányi Irén Street, where a spacious and cosy garden awaits with 16 big TVs, 36 types of Hungarian craft beer and giant hamburgers. If you feel like a bit of fun before or after matches, there is ping pong, football, skittles, billiards, and darts available. For major Euro Cup broadcasts, it's recommended to book a table online in advance.
