Flagship Store for New One Hungary Brand Opens in Budapest to Replace Vodafone
After more than a year and a half of preparatory work, One Hungary, part of the 4iG group, opened its first "flagship" brand store on Monday in the Westend City Center shopping mall in Budapest, on the site of the former Vodafone brand store.

The store opened in the Budapest shopping center is One's first brand store, which will start operating with a completely new design, which will later be extended to the entire network, said Tamás Bányai, CEO of One Hungary, at the opening, adding that the transformation is about much more than a simple " rebranding " or " logo change ."

Building on the integrated fixed and mobile networks of the former member companies, One will be able to provide a much more innovative service, while also building on the special expertise accumulated within the group, he said.

The third pillar that differentiates the company from its competitors is customer-centric service, a " strong value proposition " with competitive pricing. He noted that in addition to digital platforms, physical meeting points will also play an important role in the future.

According to the company's previous announcement, the 4iG group will merge its telecommunications commercial services as of January 1, so the residential and corporate telecommunications services of Vodafone Hungary, DIGI, Antenna Hungária and Invitech will appear under the " One " brand.

"Our goal is to be the primary choice among Hungarian telecommunications service providers, true to the One brand, for both residential and business subscribers", said the company manager.

Tamás Bányai declared that the integration of the services of DIGI, Invitech and Antenna Hungária into one hand is a historic moment in the Hungarian telecommunications market.

With the merger of the former Vodafone and DIGI stores, One Hungary is present in 98 settlements across the country with 135 stores. The stores, which will change their brand name by the end of January and will be gradually renewed throughout the year, represent a completely new concept and quality not only in their image but also in customer service, he added.

The company's statement emphasizes that One's mobile tariffs have not changed as of January 1. Customers will find some packages under different names, but the content and pricing of the packages are the same as those of the previous Vodafone and DIGI tariff packages.

The company now offers tiered discounts to customers who use multiple services, and has introduced new mobile subscriptions with unlimited domestic data and calls for both residential and small business customers, and is also offering new solutions to prepaid customers.

Tamás Bányai highlighted that One is the only telecommunications service provider in Hungary that provides the full range of RTL+ Premium in its package offers at no extra charge, so customers can access the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League matches, as well as RTL's exclusive self-produced content, films and series, at no extra cost.

In response to a question, he said that they are currently working on allowing RTL+ subscribers to access premium content with their current password as part of the One subscription.

Richárd Csáki, Deputy CEO of One Hungary for Commercial and Sales, highlighted that the stores were designed around a completely new concept, which from the very first moment " serves the customer experience, from providing fast and efficient professional assistance to establishing a direct connection ." The company's new slogan, " Every moment counts ," also symbolizes this, he added.

The interior design was carried out in collaboration with international experts from London-based KVB Design, Room Design Studio, and the 4iG team.

In response to a question, Tamás Bányai said that the goals set out in the strategic agreement with the government will be maintained. Currently, 2 million households are covered by broadband internet and in the future, hybrid and purely optical network developments will continue, but they will also " speed up " the development of the 5G mobile network, which provides gigabit download speeds.

In the past two years since 4iG acquired ownership in Vodafone, three times as many base stations have been built as in the previous two years, he added.

Vodafone's consolidated revenue decreased to HUF 233.883 billion in 2023 from HUF 287.747 billion in the previous year, and the after-tax profit amounted to HUF 1.384 billion after HUF 50.967 billion in 2022.
