Zsóry Thermal Spa in Hungary to Get HUF 4 Billion Upgrade
The Zsóry Spa in Mezőkövesd, Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, will undergo a Ft 4.4 billion upgrade, András Tállai, a state secretary at the Agriculture Ministry, said.

In one grant, the company operating the spa won Ft 3.2 billion in funding for energy improvements and another Ft 1.1 billion to develop tourism infrastructure and services.

The new wave pool will be surrounded by various recreation zones, including cascade pools, water playgrounds, and a sports lake.

The energy upgrade includes the installation of a new geothermal well, as well as the modernisation of the heating system based on thermal energy.

The upgrade will expand the area of the spa, opened in 1940, to 6,600m² from 4,000m².

4 kilometres from the centre of Mezokovesd, this spa bath complex has 22 pools set in a beautiful 11 acre park.

It's officially claimed that the 60°C water here has the highest sulphur content among the medicinal waters of Hungary, and so is excellent for easing and curing rheumatic illnesses, arthritis, gynaecological illnesses.
