New Malfunction at Nuclear Power Plant in Hungary
The output of block number 4 of the Paks nuclear power station in Hungary was reduced by 160 MW yesterday morning because of a malfunction of its control equipment, the power plant said on its website.

A component of the main circulation pump failed and has now been replaced, spokesperson Antal Kovacs said.

An automatic protection operation occurred at 8:13 in the morning, reducing the block's output by 160 MW, the Hungarian Atomic Energy Authority said on its website.

According to the OAH's data, the block's output was 500 MW at 3:28 in the afternoon.
