Home Rental Rates Rise Again in Hungary

Rental rates in the capital increased 5.6pc.
In a month-on-month comparison, home rental rates edged up 0.6pc nationwide and rose 1.0pc in Budapest.
The monthly median rent for a home in Budapest stood at HUF 260,000 early in January. The median rent was HUF 230,000 in Debrecen, Hungary's second-largest city.
Meanwhile, construction sector output falls 5.6pc in November
Output of Hungary's construction sector fell 5.6pc year-on-year in November, data released by the Central Statistics Office (KSH) show.
Construction sector output declined 3.6pc when adjusted for the number of workdays.
Output of the buildings segment climbed 7.7pc, while civil engineering output dropped 20.0pc.
In absolute terms, construction sector output reached HUF 748.5bn in November. The buildings segment accounted for 60pc of the total.
In a month-on-month comparison, construction sector output dropped 7.3pc, adjusted for seasonal and workday effects.
Order stock was up 47.6pc at the end of November compared to twelve months earlier. Buildings segment orders fell 11.3pc but civil engineering orders surged 82.0pc.
New order volume fell 5.4pc during the period. New orders in the buildings segment increased 2.0pc and new civil engineering orders slipped 9.7pc.
In January-November, output of the construction sector rose 1.6pc from the same period a year earlier.
