Travel Brief: Middle East Flights Suspended at Budapest Airport
Dozens of flights were cancelled at Liszt Ferenc International Airport due to the situation in the Middle East, Budapest Airport announced.

Wizz Air has suspended its flights to Israel, Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Amman with immediate effect.

The restriction will remain in effect until at least March 7, the low-cost airline announced.

Press release by Budapest Airport:

"The situation in the Middle East is affecting flights departing from and arriving at Ferenc Liszt International Airport. We recommend that before departure, passengers should always check the latest information with their airlines and consular services, and should monitor Budapest Airport’s flight information systems.

In view of the conflict in the Middle East, the Hungarian government has raised the terror threat level by one grade and has introduced heightened security measures, for preventive purposes, including at Ferenc Liszt International Airport.

As part of this, there is an increased Police presence in the halls of the airport, at the entrance  and on the roads leading to the airport. Random checks can also be expected for passengers traveling within the Schengen area. The airport is operating normally, passenger traffic is seamless.

We ask our passengers to follow the official information provided by the authorities and the airport."
