Why Opposition Tisza Recruiting Business Leaders in Hungary if Wins Elections
Peter Magyar, who heads the opposition Tisza Party, is recruiting top business executives to form his cabinet if he wins elections in April, Brussels news portal Politico said.

Magyar believes boardroom veterans will have the experience needed to secure frozen European Union funding, Politico said.

Zoltan Tarr, Magyar's deputy, told Politico the priority was to find "good managers".

"We mostly go to the business world to find names because we have certain rules. We cannot deal with people with certain government ‘baggage.’ And that really limits the possibilities for us," Tarr said.

Tarr said gaining access to Hungary's frozen EU funding would require "a pragmatic relation" with Brussels.

He told Politico that Tisza has set up "a special task force" to review the situation of Hungarian oil and gas company MOL.

"The whole leadership structure and ownership structure is something which needs to be dealt with," he said.

Tisza plans to halt MOL's imports of Russian oil by 2035.

Meanwhile, March 15 - Nezopont: Peace March dominates media interest

The Peace March "won the media battle" on the March 15 national holiday, reaching 6.1 million Hungarian voters compared with the opposition's National March, which reached just 5.4 million, according to an analysis released by the Nezopont Institute on Monday.

Online and broadcast media coverage of the pro-government Peace March was three times greater, with 1,870 reports versus 574 for the opposition event, Nezopont said in a statement. Sentiment also diverged sharply, with 82 percent of coverage on the Peace March being positive, and reports on the Tisza Party rally being split, with 22 percent positive and 24 percent negative.

Prime Minister Viktor Orban's speech generated 191 articles, compared with 96 for Tisza Party leader Peter Magyar, while the Ukrainian flag at the opposition rally was mentioned 46 times.

Nezopont estimated reach using average media consumption data.
