All six of Our Homeland's mandates are from national party lists.

Magyar calls out election fraud in Vas County district

Peter Magyar, the prime minister-elect, said Fidesz MP Peter Agh had won a mandate in Vas County's number 2 voting district through "obvious fraud" and called for a repeat election there in a video message on Facebook on Saturday.

Magyar said Fidesz had fielded a "sham candidate", also called Peter Magyar, who had garnered 909 votes in the race, while Tisza's candidate, Viktoria Strompova, had lost by just 258 votes to Fidesz's Agh.

He noted that the police had confirmed the launch of a criminal procedure on suspicion of election fraud there on April 9, days before the general election.

Magyar said that neither Tisza nor the people of Vas County would recognise Agh as a legitimate MP and called for a new, fair vote in the district. He urged Agh to renounce his mandate, "if he has any scruples", for the good of the voters.

He also encouraged Strompova to "proudly act" as if she were the MP for the district.

Magyar meets with EC leaders to discuss EU funding

Peter Magyar, the incoming prime minister, has held high-level talks with European Commission leaders on Hungary's European Union funding in Budapest over the past two days, the head of the Tisza Party, which won the April 12 elections, told MTI on Sunday.

"During this round of talks, I made it clear that the Tisza government is beginning its work with unprecedented legitimacy and, at the same time, a strong sense of responsibility. I emphasized that the Hungarian people's decision represents a tremendous opportunity for both Hungary and Europe," Magyar said in the statement.

"I firmly stated that the billions of euros in EU funds rightfully belong to Hungary and the Hungarian people. Without these funds, it will not be possible to kickstart the Hungarian economy," he said.

"EU funding is not charity, but a fair return for the contributions made by Hungarians to the Union and for the work Hungary has done for Europe," he added.

"At the beginning of the negotiations, I informed our partners of the Tisza Party's commitments to the Hungarian people: anti-corruption measures, Hungary's accession to the European Public Prosecutor's Office, and the restoration of the independence and freedom of the judiciary, the press, and higher education," Magyar said.

"We intend to fully implement these commitments once in government, just as we will fulfill our promise to bring home the EU funds that belong to the Hungarian people," he added.

Magyar said the new round of technical talks, with the highest level of professional representation from the incoming government, were "the first steps in a complex but urgent process".

"The consequences of the outgoing government's mistakes will not disappear overnight. But we are not looking for excuses — we are looking for solutions. We have taken the first steps in the right direction,"
he added.

Magyar said his third trip after taking his oath of office would be to Brussels.

"There, I will conclude a comprehensive agreement with EU institutions and Member State leaders, ensuring that the Hungarian people and businesses access the EU funds they are entitled to as soon as possible," he added.

"On April 12, the Hungarian people made a clear and decisive choice: Hungary's place is in Europe," Magyar said.

Tisza parliamentary group to hold first meeting Monday

The Tisza Party's parliamentary group will hold its first meeting, with 141 MPs, on Monday, the party's head, Peter Magyar, said in a post on Facebook late Saturday, after the final ballot count in the April 12 election was announced.

Magyar noted that Tisza had won contests in 96 of the 106 individual constituencies.

"Fidesz, which is disintegrating, was able to win in the remaining ten individual constituencies by a narrow margin and only by resorting to fraud," he said.

He added that the new government could start its work in mid-May and "show on a daily basis that, although not perfect, it is worthy of Hungarians' trust and able to build up a functioning and humane Hungary".

Magyar repeated an invitation to everybody to celebrate at Kossuth Square, in front of the parliament building, on the day lawmakers hold their inaugural session and the prime minister takes his oath.
