Media Insight: Changes by New Editor-in-Chief Aim to 'Future-Proof' Index.hu
- 6 May 2026 4:04 PM
Staff were informed on Tuesday that Gedei will take over as editor-in-chief on May 15, the company said.
Fekete-Szaloky played a defining role in the editorial operation and professional development of Index for more than six years, it added.
Under his leadership, the editorial team maintained its position as market leader, implemented important content developments, and achieved outstanding readership results, the statement said.
"Index's management and [parent company] Indamedia express their gratitude to Zoltan Fekete-Szaloky for his work so far, his professional commitment, and his contribution to Index’s success," the statement said.
It added that Gedei's task would be to further develop editorial operations, strengthen the brand's professional character, and implement a content and operational strategy aligned with the new division-based, group-level structure.
The statement said Indamedia was convinced that the switch to division-based operations would create clearer responsibilities, more efficient cooperation, and a stronger strategic and content focus across the entire portfolio.
The change in Index's editor-in-chief is part of this long-term effort, aimed at further strengthening the brand's market position, the "future-proof development" of the editorial operation, and the successful implementation of the new group-level operational model, the statement said.
