Taking over the Puskás Aréna for two nights, the band delivered two entirely different setlists with distinct support acts, drawing unprecedented crowds.
Thanks to a unique, central "in-the-round" stage setup, the concerts attracted more than 75,000 fans each night. T
his collective turnout of over 150,000 across the two evenings not only broke the all-time attendance record for the Puskás Aréna but also set a new record for the highest-attended stadium concert in Hungarian history.
The record-breaking wasn't confined to the stadium ticket booths. Known for making community outreach a priority at every tour stop, the band issued a call for local support that resulted in nearly 2,000 people donating blood over the weekend.
This massive turnout established it as the largest single blood donation event ever held in Hungary. Notably, a quarter of those who participated were first-time donors, signaling a significant boost for local blood banks.
Beyond the blood drive, Metallica also provided dedicated financial donations to support the work of prominent local charities, including Budapest Bike Maffia and the NANE Association.
For a few days, the band effectively took over the entire city, drawing international music travelers from nearly 70 countries. The enthusiasm spilled heavily into the scheduled rest day between the massive shows, with fans packing out Metallica-themed events across Budapest.
The Metallica Film Fest played to sold-out audiences, while lines formed for hours outside the official Metallica Pop-Up Store at the Allee shopping mall.
The House of Music Hungary hosted a sold-out book and guitar presentation by guitarist Kirk Hammett, which delighted the crowd when bassist Robert Trujillo appeared as a surprise guest for an impromptu jam session.
Fans capped off the weekend's celebrations at night, flocking to the "...And Tributes For All!" cover festival at Barba Negra and a dedicated metal party hosted at Akvárium Klub.
