'Starsky & Hutch Glamtastic Christmas Party', 15 December 2008
As these snapshots show, this Xmas event treated the lads from Budapest Celtic and a bunch of other expats to karaoke at The Caledonia and then live music at Roctogon basement club, both on Mozsár street in the 6th district of Budapest.
Terry Etheridge, the boss of (the now former) Queen Victoria Pub in Budapest made sure proceedings ran smoothly, and with only one broken nose all evening (due to a roller-skating accident, really) it was a relatively civilized Monday night filled with good humour.
'Off-duty' girls from 4PlayLounge played at Chariles Angels for the night, and a local porn-barron wearing an affro and a big purple strap-on danced around like a cross between Huggy Bear and John Holmes.
Starsky & Hutch - Patrick McMenamin & Paul Evans, or maybe the reverse order - were also joined by Declan O'Callaghan from Becketts, Liam Crow from CGS, and Rob Longworth from Ocean Bar & Grill, to name just three well known guests who joined in with the far-out festive fun.
In total around 300 glam party goers turned up to pay respect to the dudes in fancy dress, with most folks getting into the spirit and onto the dancefloor by the end of the night.
The DJ played classic tunes into the early hours and many cool cats probably woke-up late the next day with a serious dose of nostagia for the 70's - here's to more discotastic fun next year!
