'Women's International Rugby Union Development Camp and 7's Tournament' In Zánka, 12 April
Easter in Hungary, and perfect weather to stage the latest International Rugby Board (IRB) and European Rugby Federation (FIRA) Ladies' Training and Development camp.
Rugby Union is the fastest growing sport in the World, and the Women's game is now spreading rapidly across Central Europe. Under the eye of officials from many Countries, and coaches from Great Britain, over 100 women from Serbia, Czech Republic, Finland, Poland, Austria, Bulgaria, Bosnia Herzegovina, Croatia and Hungary joined together for a 4-day rugby feast in Zanka, just to the north of Lake Balaton.
The skills aquired and sharpened in the development camp were then put to the test in a closing 7-a-side tournament, from which Hungary emerged winners with a superb 26 - 14 victory over the Czech Republic Ladies. And all done without a red or yellow card in sight... .
