Budapest Expats Marathon Effort For Charity, 2-10 April 2010
Super fit local expats Simon Saunders and Harry Harron are running what's known as the toughest foot race on earth, Marathon des Sables, held every year in the southern Moroccan desert.
The two men are the only Hungary-based entrants from an international field of 750, they are aiming to raise EURO 50,000 in sponsorship for SOTE II Children's Hospital, Budapest.
These press photos show the type of conditions involved in this six-day ultramarathon, in which competitors carry all personal belongings and food - for the entire event - on their back.
