1. Where did you grow up?
A very small Schwabisch village in the countryside at the Eastern border. Given the German mentality at the place I had to learn to respect the people, the work and all the food what we were producing locally. Early 80-s was a great and safe place there but left when I was fourteen to start my own way at life.
2. If you could be an expat anywhere in the world, where would you choose?
From cultural perspective the Nordic countries are the closest to me and particularly Finland where I spent some months at the early stage of my career. As a foody the other option would be North Italy with all the Valtellina walleyes and the wide range of local product.
3. What would you miss most if you moved away from Hungary?
The beauty of the Hungarian language, the food revolution and the history around me in every building.
4. Friends are in Budapest for a weekend - what must they absolutely see and do?
I can say all the popular visitor places or thermal spas, but one of the most interesting program is a tour guided by homeless people. They are showing you the city from a homeless perspective, where to sleep, eat, and how to survive every day. This will be opening your eyes how you can get out from your comfort zone.
5. What is your favourite food?
No special meal, but everything what my mother makes when I am visiting them.
6. What is your favourite sport / form of exercise?
I had no real talent for any sports, so stayed on walking and cutting grass in the garden. By the way cutting grass is very satisfying as you have the immediate touchable result.
7. What is your favourite place in Hungary?
The bench in the garden 😊. I am still in love with the city of Szeged where I spent 5 years in school.
8. What career other than yours would you love to pursue?
I have studied forestry and I am a forester as a first occupation. Nature is always important to me and probably when you have enough of everything this can be the way out from the crowd.
9. What’s a job you would definitely never want?
Politician. I am too straight to sell only promises to people.
10. Where did you spend your last vacation?
Northern part of lake Balaton. The landscape is fantastic, the hosts are friendly and the food is better year by year. Extending the season for all year around the lake would be a big benefit for everyone.
11. Where do you hope to spend your next one?
If the global situation around us allows to travel and enjoy the summer my plan would be the Mediterranean Sea.
12. What was your favourite band, film, or hobby as a teen?
We are talking about late 70’s and early 80’s. Every kid in the Eastern bloc wanted to be Winnetou. In music I was eating all of it, but Depeche Mode was one of my favourites.
13. Apart of temptation what can't you resist?
I can resist of everything except non fairness. My sense of justice very strong and I can stand for it forever.
14. Red wine or white?
Red, but not drinking any alcohol or beverages. Only still water.
15. Book or movie?
First 40 years book, now more movie from the past.
16. Morning person or night person?
Absolutely morning. Say any early time and I will be there.
17. Which social issue do you feel most strongly about?
Support disabled people to get jobs according their knowledge. This is what I am always pushing if I am in a decision maker position.
18. Buda or Pest side?
Each side has its treasures. So, both.
19. Which achievement in your professional life are you most pleased about?
Teaching and developing 10+ people who are leading Hungarian or international companies.
20. What would you say is your personal motto?
You have only one life, don’t waste it. Live it!
