'Danube Carnival' In Budapest, Now On Until 18 June

Budapest hosts one of the most colourful series of cultural events of the year every June. Annually the Danube Carnival presents a wide range of 'phenomenal programs' at several spots around the city - where guests can enjoy folk, symphonic and world music, traditional and contemporary dance, and colourful folklore performances by the various participating countries.
World Family Summit To Be Held In Budapest Between 25 - 28 May

The Budapest Family Summit, an event focusing on, surprisingly enough, family issues, will be held later this month in Budapest, from May 25th to the 28th. The event will include famous politicians, scientists, and thinkers. You can view a video of him giving a TED talk on “the psychology of evil” on the video below.

At the end of the Hungarian Season, over the course of four weeks, between 10 May and 10 June, 2017, two centuries of Hungarian opera will be presented in a grand series that includes works by composers as early as József Ruzitska, as recent as Judit Varga and Levente Gyöngyösi, and all major Hungarian opera composers in between, as well as several indispensable choreographic works.
Art Deco In The Puszta, Academy Of Arts

The art deco architect István Sajó was born in Debrecen, in Eastern Hungary. Despite a successful career in America, he returned home to the great Hungarian plain, where he built modern, exciting and spacious art deco buildings among the traditional, mostly single-storey, neo-classical houses lining the city’s streets. Sajó’s heart and soul belonged to Debrecen.

With over a thousand dancing feet, nearly a hundred musicians and one conductor, the Budapest Festival Orchestra (BFO) will once again be giving a free concert on Heroes’ Square on 10 June. The heroes of the event will be the young people, Roma and non-Roma from privileged and less-privileged backgrounds, for whom the preparations have just started all over the country.
