Andrássy150: Free Music, Art & Events on Budapest’s Iconic Boulevard

The Andrássy150 festival features two weeks of exhibitions, performances and community events from August 24 to September 6, marking 150 years since Andrássy Avenue opened. It offers expats a chance to experience the boulevard’s history, architecture and contemporary cultural scene through a programme that is largely free.

Ancestors Day, one of Hungary’s largest heritage festivals, will once again take place in the southern village of Bugac from August 8 to 10. The three-day event will feature horseback archery, traditional strength sports, cultural exhibitions, and family-friendly programmes.

Kerekdomb Festival, Tokaj Wine Region, 13 – 16 September

Between September 13 and 16, the tiny village of Tállya in the Tokaj wine region will unlock the gates of its aged mansion, open the doors of its churches, decorate its streets and wine cellars. The most atmospheric autumn festival of Nothern Hungary will také place in the arms of the Tokaj vineyards in the gold September sun.
