From April to May 2016, the Embassy of Canada in Budapest was home to a moving student-made art exhibit that creatively communicated the importance of human rights and the value of diversity. The exhibit, consisting of 10 art pieces and 3D installations, was the collective output of over 200 students, who participated in a project to promote tolerance and inclusion through media and education.

Staff Health Screening May Be Tax-Free

According to a motion attached to the 2017 tax bill, employee health screening costs would be tax-free for employers. The bill would also make physiotherapy and psychotherapy exempt from taxes if paid by the employer.

Annual May Museums’ Festival features 120 Hungarian museums which will bring along presentations about their museums to the courtyard of the National Hungarian Museum for two days. Many of museums’ presentation run free workshops or “feel and touch” exhibitions. The one of Military museum is an absolute hit every year not only among youngsters but among adults as well.

It is “highly unlikely” that a deal will be reached this year on the TTIP free trade pact between the United States and the European Union, István Mikola, state secretary at the Hungarian foreign ministry, said in Brussels. Speaking after a meeting of EU foreign ministers, Mikola said the talks focused on the TTIP and the EU-Canada CETA deal.
