Shuttle-Boat D2 Operates Between Batthyány & Kossuth Lajos Tér

During the closure of Kossuth Lajos tér metro station, a new boat line will be in operation between Batthyány tér and Kossuth Lajos tér to supplement the replacement bus service. From Tuesday, 27 December 2016, BKK Centre for Budapest Transport will operate the river-crossing service as specified below.

Metro M2 Will Not Serve Kossuth Tér For 3 Months

For a period of about three months from the start of this December, metro line M2 will not serve the Kossuth Lajos tér M in either direction, due to the demolition of the MTESZ building. From Deák Ferenc tér, Kossuth Lajos tér can be reached by replacement bus M2A. Additionally, BKK provides a new shuttle-boat service, line D2 between Batthyány tér and Kossuth Lajos tér.

A boat will ferry public transport passengers between Batthyány tér in Buda and Kossuth tér in Pest from December 3, when the Kossuth tér metro station will be closed, the Budapest Transport Centre BKK announced.

The waste collection ship Tersus, designed to collect refuse from ships on the Danube, has begun operations, it was announced at a press conference in Budapest on Tuesday. Gábor Spányi, chief executive of Mahart PassNave, said the shipping company had spent €200,000 on implementing the project.
