Uber Expands in Hungary
A year after relaunching in Hungary, Uber is expanding its presence beyond Budapest by making its services available in Miskolc, starting June 13.

This move was announced by Ádám Reich, head of Uber’s Hungarian partner, F Mobilitás.

In addition to ground transport, Uber is launching a seasonal sightseeing boat service in central Budapest.

The new Uber Boat offers 15-minute tours on the Danube, bookable via the app.

To celebrate the launch, rides are free during June 12-14, after which the fare will be Ft 30,000 per trip until the end of August, said Eszter Kardos, head of Uber in Hungary.

Uber exited the Hungarian market in 2016 due to strict new regulations targeting unlicensed transport and app blocking.

The company returned to Budapest last year with a new model, partnering with licensed taxi operators under F Mobilitás, providing rides through yellow taxis fully compliant with regulations.
