Ivan Fischer, Music Director of the Budapest Festival Orchestra and the Konzerthaus Berlin, was awarded with an Honorary Membership of the Royal Academy of Music. The Honorary Membership is limited to 300 persons; Mendelssohn, Liszt, Stravinsky and Casals are amongst those who received this honour.
The Water Tower Of Margaret Island In Budapest Turned 102 Years Old

The historic Water Tower is a spectacular attraction of the Margaret Island, rising above the crowns of the massive trees in the court of the Open-air Theatre. Open from June until the end of September, daily: 11am–10pm. On performance days, between 7pm–11pm only the audience of the theatre may visit the Water Tower, with presenting a valid ticket.

The blind pianist Tamás Érdi had played a selection of classics from Brahms, Bartok, Debussy, to Liszt. This was not just a fabulous evening in a fabulous building, but it had a purpose.
