I came along to TedxDanubia to get a glimpse of the world, but I got the universe. I learnt about Higgs Boson, wilful blindness, sewerage of the future, protons, learning to play the piano online, ageing, beat box (Star Trek is closer than we would think!) and this was delivered by some inspirational speakers.

A left-wing daily accuses the Mayor of Budapest of closing down a cultural club in order to silence anti-government protesters. A pro-government commentator believes that the Jewish cultural organization running the Sirály cultural club without paying rent used its resources to orchestrate anti-government protest.

Budapest mayor István Tarlós agreed to let Jewish cultural centre Sirály remain open for the Passover season after a failed attempt to shut down the Sixth District facility Friday. The city property management company sent an e-mail on Thursday evening then attempted to take control of the Király utca café on Friday morning by sending security guards to change the lock on the front door.

As is now traditional, this year Budapest Airport is once again participating in the global environmental initiative called Earth Hour. The Hungarian capital airport will close one of its runways, switch off the related lights and reduce energy consumption in passenger circulation areas and in the nearly 300 buildings located at the airport for an hour at 8:30 p.m. on 23 March.
