Nyugati Budapest Railway Station To Close For Two Weeks

The Nyugati railway station in central Budapest is to close in the summer for a two-week period of repairs and track renovation. According to information obtained by the press, the station will be entirely closed to rail traffic between 22 June and 6 July for track repairs and inspecting wiring and signalling equipment.

The Investor Protection Fund (BEVA) is set to pay out its largest compensation ever, which may exceed its present budget of Ft 12 billion, to clients of collapsed brokerage Buda-Cash, Világgazdaság writes. So far, the largest amount of money paid out to victims of bankrupt brokerages came in 1999, when London Broker went belly-up.

UNESCO proclaimed 2015 as the International Year of Light and Light-based Technologies. The Kunsthalle Budapest contributes an exhibition of the Munkácsy Prize-winner Attila Csáji to the initiative. The physical and spiritual dimension of light has assumed a crucial role in the oeuvre of Csáji (1939).
