Gustav Mahler: Symphony of a Thousand, Opera House Budapest, 1 October

The fifth Liszt Fest International Cultural Festival will once again take centre stage in Budapest this autumn, bringing together leading figures from classical and contemporary music while also embracing cross-genre collaborations and a wide spectrum of the arts. Thirteen orchestral and solo concerts will be held at five locations in Tolna County as part of this special musical festival, which will be held for the tenth time between August 10 and 17 - with Szekszárd, Paks and Dunaföldvár also participating.

This season, the organisers once again welcome audiences with the grandeur of opera premieres. In keeping with their longstanding tradition, they have invited internationally acclaimed vocalists to perform the lead roles in two major productions — renowned stars who have brought Verdi’s emotionally charged Nabucco to life on the world’s most prestigious opera stages.
