The death rate in Hungary is the fifth highest in the European Union and 70 percent higher than the EU average, a fresh report published by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) shows. Fully 127,000 people died in Hungary in 2013 compared with 107,000 in Portugal and 109,000 in the Czech Republic, two countries with smaller populations than Hungary, KSH said in its Hungary 2015 report.

A while back Medián conducted a survey on anti-Semitism in Hungary. It just made its findings public. The document is almost forty pages long, full of tables and graphs, and defies being summarized in a few paragraphs. Hungarians consider themselves relatively uninformed as regards to financial affairs, but consult several sources when it comes to finding investment options, a survey conducted jointly by CIB Bank and the GfK research institute showed. The two firms conducted the research by asking online 500 people in the 25-69 age group who use the internet on a weekly basis.
