IT Services Hungary (ITSH) will invest 4.6 billion forints (EUR 14.9m) at its bases in the Hungarian cities of Szeged, Debrecen and Pécs, creating 360 jobs. The government is supporting the investment with a 650 million forint grant, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said.

Last year, 22,000 jobs in Hungary’s IT sector went unfilled, business daily Világgazdaság said. Counting positions indirectly affected by the labour shortage in the sector, altogether 72,000 jobs were vacant. The shortage has worsened this year, Ádám Horváth, who is in charge of education for IT business association IVSZ, said.

IBM will enlarge its Székesfehérvár IT service headquarters with an investment worth HUF 3.2 billion, and based on an individual decision, the Government will provide HUF 1.1 billion for the project. As a result, 410 new jobs will be created, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade announced on Wednesday in Székesfehérvár.
