Hungary’s construction sector output climbed an annual 18.5% in January after falling for twelve months in a row, data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) show. Building construction output was up by 32.8% while civil engineering output fell by 3.0%.

As suggested by its name, the primary focus of the event is wine (as in vin) exhibited in Central Europe (CE). 160 exhibitors are scheduled to take part in the event with exhibitors coming from Hungary and the neighboring countries but some winemakers from outside the region will also offer their bottles for tasting between 17 - 19 March in Corinthia Hotel Budapest.

Addressing a gala dinner in honour of recipients of the Kossuth Prize on Hungary’s March 15 national holiday, Viktor Orbán said that the country’s new economic model was working well and could ensure the necessary funds.

The national flag was hoisted in front of Parliament on Wednesday morning, marking the start of state celebrations of the anniversary of Hungary’s anti-Habsburg revolution that started on March 15, 1848. The ceremony was attended by President János Áder, Speaker of Parliament László Kövér, representatives of state organisations, diplomats, and several hundred others.
