Szijjártó Seals Investment Deals With US Companies

Péter Szijjártó, the minister of foreign affairs and trade, has reached agreements with three American companies on investments that will create hundreds of jobs in Hungary during a visit to Washington. The minister told MTI that an agreement was reached with an American automotive industry supplier on a 15 billion forint (USD 53m) investment in western Hungary that will create 200 jobs.

The opposition Együtt party has called on the government to stop spending further funds worth several billion forints on the EU migrant quota referendum’s campaign. The government-initiated national referendum is set to be held on October 2. Együtt responded to cabinet chief Antal Rogán who has indicated that further funds are planned to be allocated in August for the purpose.
