So many of our expats are émigrés who have come home. My husband lived for forty five years abroad but he always rejected the epithet émigré. “If you wear galoshes,” I told him looking down at his feet on a snowy New York sidewalk, “you are an émigré.”

After taking leading roles in the student and cultural life of the city for years, she continued her studies in adult & continuing education and event management in Debrecen.
