Festive Zsolnay Quarter: Visit Winter Wonderland in Pécs
Pécs’s Zsolnay Cultural Quarter stays open through the winter break (except December 24-26 and January 1), offering exhibitions, light displays, interactive sessions, and hands-on activities to beat the cold.

Permanent exhibits run year-round with added winter programming. Highlights include the Zsolnay Golden Age – Gyugyi Collection, the family and factory history display, Pink Zsolnay porcelain, Visual Manufactory, and the Zsolnay Mausoleum.

Family Ticket Deal

From December 1, 2025, to January 4, 2026, family packages cover 5 people (max two adults, three kids aged 6-18) instead of 4. Tickets work for two days across Zsolnay, Heritage, World Heritage, and Time Traveler options.

Evening Lights and Guided Tours

After dark, the Winter Light Garden features light tunnels, gates, fairy-tale figures, and forest animals. Daytime guided tours cover the Gyugyi Collection discovery walk, "Christmas with the Zsolnays" in period costumes, the Winter Solstice Mausoleum tour (spotting sunlight on eosin paint), and "In the Footsteps of the Zsolnays" in the family home.

Science and Creative Workshops

The quarter's planetarium offers astronomer-led shows. Try VR Universe (from space station to ocean depths), Magic Hour physics demos, or the Laboratory's games, flight simulator, and laser course.

Winter workshops include Christmas ceramic painting, mandala creation, tile folding, macramé, and museum education sessions.

Gallery Exhibits

The m21 Gallery hosts "The Response of Matter" by Sándor Kecskeméti (Hungarian contemporary sculpture) and "Design Icons – Yesterday and Today" (blending design and fine arts).
