The Budapest Family Summit, an event focusing on, surprisingly enough, family issues, will be held later this month in Budapest, from May 25th to the 28th. The government has decided to take further measures to help families, with an emphasis on helping mothers get a job and opening creches at workplaces, the human resources minister announced. Speaking at an event organised by the German Economic Club (DWC) in Budapest on Saturday evening, Zoltán Balog said the government would spend a total 6 billion forints (EUR 19.4m) on the creche programme.

This year’s theme, 'Museums in the Garden', highlights the importance of environmental protection and the reconstruction of Múzeumkert. There will also be plenty of entertainment, including theater, live music, dance shows, and is free of charge.

Organisers say the 'finest Hungarian gastronomic festival' will cross borders and host some of the best restaurants and chefs in the Central European region. Ana Roš from Slovenia, the world's best female chef, is just one example. This year at this annual fest the main focus will be on the indigenous Mangalica pig, as well as strawberries.
