Retail sales in Hungary were revised downward to an annual 5.2 percent in June from 5.5 percent in the first reading, the Central Statistical Office said in a second reading of data on Wednesday. Adjusted for calendar year effects, retail sales were up 5.7 percent. Adjusted food sales increased by 3.7 percent, non-food sales jumped 8.3 percent and fuel sales rose by 5.1 percent.

More than 50,000 applications have been submitted for funding under the government’s expanded Home Purchase Subsidy Scheme for Families (CSOK), an official of the Prime Minister’s Cabinet Office said on Friday. Retail sales in Hungary climbed an annual 6% in May, the Central Statistical Office (KSH) said in a second reading of data. Retail sales rose by 5.5% when adjusted for calendar year effects. The pace of retail sales growth accelerated from an unadjusted and adjusted 3.2% and 1.8%, respectively, in April. Retail sales growth in May was highest since June 2016.
