Jobbik MP and deputy delegation leader Dóra Dúró made statements at a press conference Wednesday where she expressed her party’s willingness to accept the votes of homosexual Hungarians if they felt Jobbik represented their interests. The statements were reported in the media because they marked a significant break with Jobbik’s previously espoused anti-homosexual positions.

Hungary and Germany are natural allies and should remain as such in the future, too, Prime Minister Viktor Orbán said in Passau on Tuesday. Orbán was speaking in part of a podium discussion on Euroscepticism. The prime minister visited the tomb of Gisela of Hungary, the country’s first queen consort, in the Kloster Niedernburg.

Hungary’s national flag was hoisted in front of the Parliament building on Monday morning, in a state commemoration marking the 61th anniversary of the anti-Soviet uprising which started on October 23, 1956. Hungarians rose up against the inhuman communist regime in October, 1956, and the country of 10 million people defeated the domineering Soviet Union of 200 million people for 13 days.

Sausage Festival In Budapest, 13 - 15 October

This annual festival featuring 250 types of spiced up meat will be held at the Hungarian Railway Museum this year. As well as lots of porky specials available along several 'Sausage Streets', there will be family programs, folklore shows, 'nostalgic music programs' and dance, plus apparently presentations of enormous sausages, during this three day special Hungarian gastro event.
