The European Investment Bank (EIB) is lending EUR 40 million to Hungary’s Railway Company GySEV (Gyor-Sopron-Ebenfurti Vasut Zrt) to finance the purchase of new rolling stock and introduce safety improvements. This will help to provide higher quality railway services on the Austrian-Hungarian cross-border railway network along the strategic trans-European transport corridor.

Hungary’s construction sector output decreased by an annual 26.6% in May, falling sharply for the fifth month in a row, data released by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) on Friday showed. The pace of the output decline slowed somewhat from 29.8% in April and 33.9% in March, but the construction sector is still going through its toughest period since 2012.

If the aerial couriers get brought into real action, then the delivery time could be reduced from the current 1 hour to 30 minutes. In a few years’ time the sight of drones flying in the air at 100-150 metres can become as natural as the sight of cars on the streets.
