Wizz Air To Fly From Budapest To Tel Aviv, Kiev

From December, low cost airline Wizz Air will fly to Tel Aviv and Kiev three times a week, having received permission for the flights for an unspecified period from the authorities. The new routes expect to have 2 million passengers annually, CEO József Váradi said on Monday. Further rights for flights to Moscow and Istanbul are expected within two months, he added.

"The European Commission yesterday ordered Malév to repay almost Ft 100 billion to the state, after ruling that government financial assistance for the airline during 2007-10 constituted illegal state aid. In essence, the EU competition authority found that Malév could not have obtained such financing from the market on similar conditions as offered by the state.
