Costes has once more been awarded the accolade of 'Best Restaurant 2012' by the local Dining Guide publication. This is the second time the restaurant has won this prize, the most prestigious award in the Hungarian gastronomy scene. The prize was received by expat chef Miguel Viera Rocha, and Károly Gerendai the main owner of Costes.

Chef Tamas Szell of Budapest’s Onyx restaurant finished tenth in the biennial Bocuse d'Or world cooking contest in Lyon, France. France came out the winner, ahead of Denmark and Japan. A poster by Szell won the best poster prize based on votes cast by the audience.
